Zomato CEO Responds at Hyderabad Warehouse Incident

On November 4, 2024, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal commented on the situation on X (formerly Twitter) in a post that has since gone viral. Goyal agreed that food safety officers had found 90 packs of button mushrooms with a wrong date on the packaging, but he added that those packs were earlier identified by the warehouse staff and were rejected in the initial quality check.

This is due to a 'manual typing error on the vendor's side, Goyal added. Here, the company had also taken corrective action against that vendor by excluding the same from the Zomato vendor database.
