Is INDIA Bloc Reuniting After Delhi Elections? Congress Gains Support Again

The INDIA alliance, which appeared fractured during the Delhi Assembly elections, seems to be regaining unity just days after voting ended. Key opposition parties, including TMC, SP, RJD, NCP (SP), and Shiv Sena (UBT), which had distanced themselves from Congress, are now seen standing together against the Modi government.

Congress Gains Support in Key Political Issues

1. UNITED PROTEST IN PARLIAMENT

A day after Delhi elections, Congress, AAP, SP, and other INDIA bloc leaders protested against the Modi government in Parliament over the treatment of Indian immigrants by the US.
Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav were seen standing together, signaling a possible reunion.

2. UGC DRAFT RULES CONTROVERSY

The INDIA alliance showed unity again during a protest against UGC draft rules at Jantar Mantar, led by DMK.
Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav participated alongside DMK leaders, criticizing the BJP government and pledging to fight for student rights.

3. MAHARASHTRA VOTER LIST ISSUE

In a joint press conference, Rahul Gandhi, NCP (SP) leader Supriya Sule, and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut accused the Election Commission of voter list manipulation in Maharashtra.
Rahul claimed that 32 lakh new voters were added in five years, while 39 lakh were added in just five months, raising suspicions.
This united stand sent a strong message that the INDIA alliance is still intact.

Did Delhi Elections Break the INDIA Bloc?

During the Delhi elections, TMC, SP, and other alliance partners supported AAP instead of Congress.
Mamata Banerjee questioned Congress’ leadership, and INDIA bloc allies campaigned for AAP.
The fractures deepened when Congress aggressively contested against AAP, leading many to believe that the alliance had collapsed.

Is the INDIA Alliance Still Strong?

After Delhi elections, the INDIA bloc appears to be rebuilding relationships with Congress.
While internal differences remain, political necessity seems to be pushing them back together.
As 2029 elections approach, opposition parties might prioritize unity over internal conflicts to challenge the BJP government effectively.

The INDIA alliance, once believed to be falling apart, is showing signs of revival post the Delhi elections. Whether this reunion will last or fade again depends on Congress' leadership and future electoral strategies. In politics, as they say, there are no permanent friends or enemies—only shifting alliances.
