Attention Passengers! Mumbai Rains Slow Down Trains – Check the Full List of Rescheduled Services Here
The city of Mumbai has come to a halt due to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, which have caused significant waterlogging and disrupted traffic in several areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Mumbai and parts of Maharashtra, warning of continued severe weather. In response, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has declared a holiday for all private and government schools and colleges in Mumbai on September 26. Meanwhile, several trains in Mumbai have been rescheduled due to the ongoing weather conditions.

Which Trains Are Affected?
Central Railway Mumbai has released a list of rescheduled trains on the micro-blogging platform X. They announced that due to heavy rainfall and waterlogging in the Mumbai section, the following trains have been rescheduled:

- Train number 20111 CSMT-MAO Konkan Kanya SF JCO, originally scheduled to depart on 25.09.2024 at 23:00, has been rescheduled to 01:30 on 26.09.2024.
- Train number 11057 CSMT-ASR Amritsar Express JCO, originally scheduled to depart on 25.09.2024 at 23:30, has been rescheduled to 01:45 on 26.09.2024.
- Train number 18520 LTT Visakhapatnam, originally scheduled to depart on 26.09.2024 at 06:55, has been rescheduled to 07:55 on 29.09.2024.
Mumbai Traffic Disrupted
Mumbai traffic police have also provided updates regarding traffic disruptions. Traffic in Andheri Metro has been halted due to waterlogging, with 1.5 feet of water accumulated in the area. Southbound traffic has been diverted via Gokhale Bridge. Additionally, the Malad subway has been closed due to flooding, and traffic has been rerouted through Sainath Road.

IMD has warned of winds reaching speeds of 40-50 km/h in several districts of Maharashtra, further complicating traffic conditions.

IMD Issues Thunderstorm and Heavy Rain Warning
The IMD has issued a thunderstorm and heavy rain warning for Mumbai, predicting severe weather in several districts of Maharashtra, including Palghar, Nandurbar, Dhule, Jalgaon, Solapur, and Satara. These areas are likely to experience thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rainfall, with several localities in Mumbai and the surrounding regions already significantly affected by the ongoing downpour.
