Maharashtra Elections 2024:BJP Leaders Move to Alliance Party for Tickets
A few BJP leaders, including Shaina NC and Nilesh Rane, are shifting to alliance partners Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) to get tickets in the upcoming Maharashtra elections.
In the coming Maharashtra Assembly Elections, strange things are happening in the Mahayuti ruling alliance. Notably, leaders of the BJP, especially high-profile ones like Shaina NC and Nilesh Rane, have gone to other coalition parties like Shiv Sena under Eknath Shinde and NCP leader Ajit Pawar, hoping to get a ticket to contest the election. Such a movement points toward seat-sharing arrangements within an alliance where leaders position themselves at their own will on a seat-sharing agreement basis.
Maharashtra Elections 2024: BJP Leaders Switch to Alliance Partners for Tickets
Nilesh Rane, son of former Chief Minister and Union Minister Narayan Rane, joined Shinde's Shiv Sena from Kudal-Sawantwadi to contest from that constituency. This seat has been allocated to Shinde's faction as part of the alliance arrangement. Here, Rane took a tactical turn to challenge an incumbent Vaibhav Naik of Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena. In contrast, four other BJP leaders crossed over to Ajit Pawar's NCP to contest from the Sangli constituencies. Former MP Sanjaykaka Patil and district chief Nishikant Bhosale Patil joined NCP in the presence of Ajit Pawar and state president Sunil Tatkare at Mumbai. Very soon after joining NCP, announced their candidature, while Bhosale will be contesting from Islampur and Sanjaykaka from Tasgaon. The entry of Bhosale adds heat to the contest with Jayant Patil from Sharad Pawar's NCP, and Sanjaykaka with Rohit Patil, son of NCP stalwart R. It's the first election he will contest.
In the district Nanded, BJP Leader, Prataprao Chikhalikar followed in the footsteps of Chief Minister Ajit Pawar of NCP; after accepting the ticket offered for the Loha Constituency, which as MLA had won twice, since.

Continuing on this trend, BJP old spokesperson Shaina NC recently joined Shinde's Shiv Sena from Mumbadevi constituency of Mumbai. She would contest in the seat, with whom Congress candidate Amin Patel will be. In another significant move of big league repositioning, powerful leaders have again emerged showing tactical shufflings and maneuvering power across Mahayuti's formations. This kind of poll cycle is surely an experience in the dynamism Maharashtra is witnessing during election polls. The changing politics require adaptability on its soil.
