A tragic accident occurred in Mumbai's Kurla area on Monday night, killing six people and injuring 49 when a BEST bus lost control and collided with vehicles and pedestrians. The accident took place around 9:45 pm, when the bus, plying from Kurla Station to Andheri on Route 332, deviated from the course. The bus crashed into pedestrians and vehicles, causing widespread panic before finally crashing into a housing society wall.

Six people have been confirmed dead among the victims. The dead include Kannis Fatima Ansari, Shivam Kashyap, Afreen Abdul Salim Shah, and Anam Shaikh. Emergency services rushed to the scene, where local residents quickly assisted in transporting the injured to nearby Bhabha Hospital. Many victims are still receiving medical treatment, with some in critical condition.

The bus driver has been taken into police custody, and a comprehensive investigation has been initiated to find out what led to the accident. CCTV footage from the scene reveals the bus speeding, with pedestrians frantically trying to get out of the way of the oncoming vehicle.

Police have lodged a case and are conducting an inquiry. As the authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident, it remains to be seen whether it was a mechanical failure or driver error. The incident has sent shockwaves throughout Mumbai, emphasizing the need for stricter safety measures and accident prevention on the busy streets of the city.
