Ranchi: In a tragic incident on Friday night, a young man was shot dead by drug traffickers in the Argora police station area of Ranchi. The victim, identified as Abhishek Kumar Singh, was killed while resisting an attempted robbery of his iPhone and cash.

Incident Details

The incident took place near the fruit market in Argora, where Abhishek Kumar Singh had gone with his friend Prince to buy marijuana. As they approached Harmu River fruit market, drug traffickers attempted to rob them. The situation quickly escalated, and the traffickers opened fire, killing Abhishek on the spot.

Upon receiving the information, City SP Raj Kumar Mehta, Kotwali DSP, Hatia DSP, City DSP, and Argora Police Station Officer-in-Charge rushed to the scene to investigate the case.

Robbery and Resistance

During the robbery, Prince handed over his mobile phone and cash to the criminals, while Abhishek resisted the theft. In retaliation, the traffickers shot Abhishek multiple times, resulting in his immediate death. The manner in which Abhishek's body was found suggests that he was chased and shot. Bloodstains were visible at multiple locations around the vegetable market, indicating the severity of the attack.
