Surat: In light of the ongoing slowdown in Surat's diamond market, the city’s Congress leaders have submitted a memorandum to the Surat Diamond Association, calling for measures to support the struggling diamond workers. Led by Congress President Kalpesh Barot, the party has urged the association to ensure that workers laid off during this period are reinstated and provided with financial assistance.

The Congress delegation highlighted the severe impact of the market downturn on diamond workers and their families, stressing the need for an economic package to help them navigate these challenging times. They also requested that a survey be conducted to assess the financial needs of the workers, particularly concerning household and children's expenses.
