Bybit Launches $250K Crypto Surf Trading Event Amid Trust Rebuild
Bybit’s “Crypto Surf” trading event offers $250,000 USDT in rewards and runs until May 19, 2025. Amid past security issues, the contest aims to rebuild trust with Copy Trading, Bots, and prediction-based bonuses for eligible KYC-verified traders.
Bybit has launched a significant trading competition called "Crypto Surf: Ride the Waves with Trailing Stops," with a huge prize pool of $250,000 USDT. The competition is until May 19, 2025, and is being touted as a double-edged initiative—to get the traders back in business and restore user trust after recent setbacks for the platform.
Competition Format: Copy Traders vs Bots
Contestants are allowed to participate in the contest through Copy Trading or Trading Bots. The top performers will be measured on three parameters:
- Profit and Loss (PnL)
- Return on Investment (ROI)
- Total Trading Volume
For an added twist, the competition also enables participants to forecast the winning team. Accurate predictions reward participants with a 5% bonus of the prize pool, introducing an element of strategy into the competition.
Eligibility Criteria to Participate
To participate in the competition, the users need to satisfy the below criteria:
- At least $1,000 USDT in wallet.
- The team should achieve at least a minimum trading volume of $10,000.
- Level 1 KYC (verification of identity) must be fulfilled by the users.
- Only if the above is achieved will users qualify as candidates for participation.
Strategy of Bybit During Persisting Challenges
Bybit has experienced a bumpy few months. In February 2025, it was hacked for $1.45 billion, one of the biggest crypto hacks on record. Then, the platform removed its NFT Marketplace and IDO product pages in April, resulting in a considerable loss of user trust.
This new competition appears to be a strategic initiative to regain confidence among its community. Although the huge prize pool and competitive excitement are sure to put Bybit back in the limelight, users are still cautioned to exercise caution in light of recent developments.
