Indian Railways Reduces Ticket Booking Period to 60 Days, Exempts Certain Trains

In a significant move ahead of the festive season, Indian Railways has announced a reduction in the advance ticket booking period from 120 days to 60 days, effective from November 1, 2024. This new rule aims to simplify the booking process for passengers, allowing them to plan their travel within a shorter time frame. However, this change does not apply to passengers who have already booked their tickets before October 31, 2024.

While the reduced booking window will apply to most trains, certain daytime express trains like the Taj Express and Gomti Express are exempt from this rule and will continue with their existing advance reservation limits. Moreover, foreign tourists will still be able to book tickets 365 days in advance, as this option remains unchanged.
