Jio Launches AI-Powered Smart Shopping Carts for Faster Grocery Shopping
New Delhi: Just in time for Diwali, Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio has unveiled a revolutionary shopping experience. Launched at the India Mobile Congress 2024, Jio has introduced AI-powered Smart Shopping Carts that promise to eliminate the long-standing hassle of waiting in checkout queues.
With Artificial Intelligence (AI) integrated into shopping carts, customers can now enjoy a seamless shopping experience where their bill is generated automatically as they place items in their cart. These smart carts are equipped with cameras and scanners that track every item in real time, sending the information to the store’s system for instant billing.
How the Smart Shopping Cart Works
Imagine entering a grocery store and picking up items without the worry of waiting in line. The Jio Smart Shopping Cart uses its built-in technology to detect the items you select and their prices. If you decide to remove an item from your cart, the bill automatically adjusts. When you're done shopping, simply scan a code on the cart, and your final bill is ready for payment.
Currently, these smart carts are being tested in select stores in Hyderabad and Mumbai, allowing customers to experience faster, more efficient grocery shopping.
Smart Weighing Scales
Additionally, Jio has introduced smart weighing scales equipped with cameras that recognize products placed on them. This ensures accurate pricing and billing without manual input, making the checkout process even quicker.
