Mahindra Sets Monthly Sales Record with Over 96,000 Units Sold in October - Read Now

Mahindra & Mahindra, Mumbai, achieved its all-time record sales for a month in October 2024, backed by good festive season demand. The automobile major recorded its sales figure at 96,648 units with a 20% increase over the units dispatched at 80,679 in October 2023. Here's what followed:

Utility Vehicles Sales at the Top
Mahindra's UV business clocked a new all-time high of 54,504 units in the domestic market. The increase accounts for a 25 per cent surge over last year's numbers of 43,708 units, indicating an increasing appetite for SUVs from Mahindra, which include highly-in-demand models like Thar, Scorpio, and XUV700. According to Veejay Nakra, President of Automotive Division at Mahindra, "We have just achieved the highest SUV sales in company history in October 2024.".

The momentum received another boost from Thar ROXX, a limited-edition SUV that has generated 1.7 lakh bookings within the first hour of opening. Nakra elaborated on the success of the SUV line-up and attributed large sales surges to significant customer interest through the whole festive period.

Passenger Vehicle and Commercial Vehicle shine
Mahindra's total passenger vehicle wholesales, comprising exports, were 55,571 units for October 2024. Commercial vehicle sales in India too were robust at 28,812 units.

Mahindra's exports were less robust in October but still suggest that the demand for Mahindra products is steady in overseas markets, as 1,127 units were exported out of India. Well-rounded growth in all vehicle segments is indicative of Mahindra's strength in both domestic and international markets.

Agro-positive climate boosting farm tractor segment sales
Domestic sales for Mahindra's Farm Equipment Sector, or FES, were a record one for the year as sales stood at 64,326 tractors in the month of October. Domestic sales had almost doubled against the same time last year with sales figures reaching to 49,336 units. When the export was taken into consideration, sales stood at 65,453 units against 50,460 units for last October.

Mahindra's FES President Hemant Sikka attributed excellent growth in tractor sales to a number of favorable conditions. The major factors were a good monsoon season, a promising Kharif crop, high reservoir levels, and the government's announcement of a higher Minimum Support Price (MSP) on major Rabi crops. Sikka said that these factors, along with the festive demand, contributed to the strong sales numbers in October.

He added that the forthcoming months would be very upbeat and sustained demand would prevail for Mahindra farm equipment on account of benign agricultural conditions.
