October Brings Price Hike: LPG Cylinder Costs Rise in Major Indian Cities - Read Here
As of October 1, 2024, the prices of LPG gas cylinders have seen a notable increase across major cities in India, impacting consumers significantly. The 19 kg commercial gas cylinder in Delhi has risen from ₹1,691.50 to ₹1,740, marking a steep hike of ₹48. Similarly, Mumbai's prices have surged from ₹1,644 to ₹1,692.50, while Kolkata's prices have jumped from ₹1,802.50 to ₹1,850.50. Chennai also recorded an increase, with commercial cylinder prices now at ₹1,903, up from ₹1,855.
Consistent Price Fluctuations
This increase in LPG prices is not an isolated incident but part of a trend that has been ongoing since July 2024. Following a brief reduction of ₹30 in July, prices have consistently risen, with an increase of ₹8.50 in August and another ₹39 hike on September 1. Notably, while commercial gas prices have fluctuated, there have been no changes to the prices of domestic LPG cylinders, which remain stable at around ₹803 in Delhi and approximately ₹829 in Kolkata.
