FIITJEE Noida Scam Exposed: Students Duped, ₹11 Crore Seized!

The FIITJEE coaching institute, renowned for preparing students for competitive exams like the IIT-JEE, is under intense scrutiny following abrupt closures of several centers in Noida and Greater Noida. Authorities have initiated a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to delve deeper into the alleged financial irregularities and fraud complaints associated with these closures

Formation of the Special Investigation Team (SIT)

In response to numerous complaints from parents and students, the Noida police have transferred the investigation from Sector-58 police station to the Crime Branch. Similarly, the case registered at Knowledge Park police station in Greater Noida is expected to be handed over to the Crime Branch soon. This strategic move aims to ensure a thorough and specialized investigation into the matter.

Freezing of Bank Accounts

Investigations have uncovered significant financial activities linked to FIITJEE's founder, Dinesh Goyal. Authorities have identified and frozen approximately 384 bank accounts associated with the institute. Notably, ₹11.11 crore was seized from 12 bank accounts linked to Goyal. These actions are part of the broader effort to trace and secure funds collected from students and parents.

Complaints from Parents and Students

The sudden shutdown of FIITJEE centers has left numerous students in a precarious position, especially those preparing for imminent examinations. Parents have lodged formal complaints, alleging that the institute collected substantial fees before ceasing operations without prior notice. For instance, in Noida, an FIR was registered against nine FIITJEE officials on January 24, citing charges of criminal breach of trust and conspiracy

FIITJEE's Response

In light of the allegations, FIITJEE has stated that the closures were not a result of institutional decisions but were due to unforeseen circumstances caused by the sudden departure of managing partners and staff. The institute has expressed intentions to resume operations and has indicated that their legal team is addressing the ongoing investigations and allegations

The unfolding situation with FIITJEE underscores the critical importance of transparency and accountability in educational institutions. As the SIT conducts its comprehensive investigation, affected students and their families await clarity and resolution. This case serves as a poignant reminder of the need for stringent oversight in the educational sector to safeguard the interests of students and parents alike.
