From Tech Graduate to Top IAS: Laghima Tiwari's Remarkable First Attempt Triumph
Laghima Tiwari, an IAS officer who secured an All India Rank of 19 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2022, has made headlines for achieving this remarkable feat on her first attempt. A graduate in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Delhi Technological University, Tiwari hails from Alwar, Rajasthan. Her success is a testament to her unwavering determination and persistence.
After completing her graduation in 2021, Tiwari embarked on her UPSC preparation journey. She gained insights from YouTube interviews of toppers and focused on current events, basic General Studies, and static sections. Despite lacking formal guidance, Tiwari achieved success through self-study and exam series.
“Consistency is the key to success,” Tiwari said. She advises aspirants to make regular efforts, regardless of how late they study. Emphasizing the importance of continuous effort and revision, she also recommends planning ahead for effective preparation.
Following the preliminary examination, Tiwari suggests that candidates save time and start preparing for the main exam immediately. After studying biology from grades 9 to 12, Tiwari chose Anthropology as her optional subject for the UPSC Mains exam, demonstrating that unconventional decisions can also lead to success.
Her journey underscores the importance of meticulous planning, stress management techniques, and maintaining an open mind. Tiwari credits her parents for her success and notes that she is the first in her family to choose a career in public service.
