JEE Main 2025 Day 2 Exam Analysis: Chemistry Easiest, Mathematics Most Challenging

The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2025, held on January 23 in the morning shift, was considered easy to moderate in difficulty by experts. Chemistry was the easiest section, followed by Physics, while Mathematics was the biggest challenge because of its length and calculation-heavy questions. Here's a detailed analysis:
Physics Analysis
Physics was on the whole very easy to moderately difficult for students. Most questions were based upon Class 12 topics, not many from Class 11, and some popular chapters like Optics and Electromagnetism dominated the section. Those topics like Mechanics, Waves and Thermodynamics almost had no presentation. Questions pertaining to Modern Physics were moderately placed, while Alternate Currents, EMI, and Magnetism were comparatively underrepresented topics. Instrument based questions diversified this section.
Chemistry Analysis
Chemistry proved to be the easiest and least time-consuming to attempt, dealing with almost every chapter. It was Organic Chemistry that dominated most with simple, straightforward questions coupled with past years. This kept students saving the best time here for Mathematics and Physics. Less were the numbers of questions arising from Inorganic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry.
Mathematics Analysis
Mathematics was the most challenging section for many, from moderate to difficult in difficulty. Class 12 topics like Calculus, 3D Geometry and Vectors, and Conic Sections had the most representation, while Class 11 chapters were less emphasized. Although the questions were not very tricky, lengthy calculations made this section time-consuming. Mathematics required careful time management and emerged as the toughest part of the exam.
The overall exam was somewhat imbalanced with regard to topics. Chemistry was quite easy and could be finished quickly, whereas Physics was average, and Mathematics required extra effort and time due to its calculation-intensive nature.
