Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Resigns 

In an official resignation letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stepped down following severe irregularities in the May 3, 2026, NEET UG examination.

Taking full moral responsibility, Pradhan detailed the government's immediate response handing the investigation to the CBI, canceling and rescheduling the test for June 21, and shifting future exams to a Computer Based Test (CBT) format. Despite successful re examination results declared on July 16, he cited escalating political unrest, protests at Jantar Mantar, and the risk of anti national elements exploiting student frustrations as his primary reasons for resigning, emphasizing that his decision aims to keep students focused on their careers and protect them from legal complications while reaffirming his lifelong commitment to national service and education reform.
