Chhath Puja 2024: Actress Sneha Wagh Celebrates for the First Time, Inspired by Her Role as Chhathi Maiya

With Diwali celebrations over, preparations for Chhath Puja have now begun. Starting from November 5, this four-day festival is dedicated to the worship of Sun God and Goddess Chhathi Maiya. Although actress Sneha Wagh, who plays Goddess Chhathi Maiya in the popular TV show Chhathi Maiya Ki Bitiya, hails from Maharashtra, she recently revealed that she will be celebrating Chhath Puja this year with full devotion.

Sneha Wagh shared how playing the role of Chhathi Maiya in Chhathi Maiya Ki Bitiya opened her eyes to the significance of this festival. She explained, “When I started playing the role of Chhathi Maiya, I learned many things about this festival that I didn’t know before. Through this show, I discovered the deep meaning behind Chhath Puja, and I found it beautiful how it symbolizes faith, strength, and gratitude. Chhath Puja teaches us to be thankful to the Sun, nature, and family.”

She added, “This festival has shown me how it brings families together and instills a sense of dedication and respect for the environment.”

Sneha, whose family had never celebrated Chhath Puja before, feels transformed by her experience on the show. She said, “Neither I nor my family had celebrated Chhath Puja before. But being a part of Chhathi Maiya Ki Bitiya has brought a change in me. Through the show, I am learning about its rituals, and this year, for the first time, I’ll actually be celebrating this festival.”

Reflecting on the rituals of Chhath Puja, Sneha shared her admiration for the devotion shown by mothers. “One of the most beautiful rituals of Chhath Puja that touches my heart is when a mother fasts for the well-being of her children. The selfless love and dedication she shows while preparing prasad (offerings) is truly heartwarming.”
