Disha Patani on K-Dramas and Bollywood: “They’re More Connected Than You Think”

“I grew up watching anime as a kid. Dragon Ball Z and so many others fascinated me,” Disha shared. “The storylines are incredible, and the emotional connection they create is unreal. I don’t think films can always capture that same magic. Anime excels in every genre, whether it’s romance, action, or fantasy.”
Her passion for anime is evident in her social media activity, where she often shares snippets of her favorite shows and characters.
Korean Content and Its Bollywood Connection
Speaking about Korean dramas and films, Disha praised their storytelling and style. “Korea is great at filmmaking, especially in romance and series. I feel a lot of their content is inspired by Bollywood,” she said.
Disha added, “I love their music, fashion, and culture. It’s fascinating how they blend emotions and style so seamlessly.”

During the interview, Disha admitted she often feels like she’s not working as much as she should. “I really need to love something to do it. It’s an intuitive process for me. If I don’t feel it, I can’t commit to it,” she explained.
However, Disha expressed her excitement for upcoming projects. “Working on Kanguva was a beautiful experience. I’m looking forward to doing a lot more work in the future.”
Disha Patani's latest film, Kanguva, released on November 14, features Suriya and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles. Directed by Siva, the movie has an ensemble cast including Natarajan Subramaniam, KS Ravikumar, Yogi Babu, and Kovai Sarala.
