Given these early numbers, Kanguva could surpass the advance booking record set by Suriya’s last film, Etharkkum Thunindhavan, which achieved ₹4.35 crore gross. However, there’s still some suspense, as bookings in several multiplexes are yet to open.
Sacnilk’s data will soon reveal if Kanguva can truly outperform Suriya’s previous hit. Fans are watching closely to see if the fantasy tale, combining action, romance, and resurrection themes, will mark another milestone for Suriya.
The Story and Spectacle of Kanguva
In Kanguva, Suriya takes on dual roles, portraying both a warrior known as Kanguva and a present-day character named Francis Theodore. The story, hinted at in trailers, involves a theme of resurrection, promising both visual grandeur and a layered narrative. Bobby Deol steps into the role of Udhiran, a fierce warrior, while Disha Patani plays the role of Angelina, the love interest of Suriya’s contemporary character.
With its storyline spanning across timelines, Siva’s directorial vision brings together powerful emotions, epic battles, and a sweeping cinematic experience, as the film is set to release in all major South Indian languages and Hindi, in both 2D and 3D formats.
Adding to the anticipation, Kanguva will compete with Amaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, which is already performing well at the box office. Industry watchers are curious if the overlap will affect the earnings of either film.
