Actor Kang Ha-neul recently opened up about his dating preferences and addressed rumors about not dating celebrities. In an honest conversation during a recent appearance on the YouTube channel “Life84,” Kang Ha-neul and fellow actor Park Hae-joon were promoting their film “Yadang: The Snitch” (also known as Opposition). During this conversation, Kang Ha-neul discussed his approach to relationships and revealed why he is drawn to people outside the entertainment industry.

Kang Ha-neul's View on Dating Celebrities

When asked by host Kian84 about the rumors that he doesn't date celebrities, Kang Ha-neul shared, “It’s not that I absolutely refuse to date celebrities, but I tend to feel more curious about and drawn to people from different professions. I gain a lot from conversations with a romantic partner, and that’s why I find myself attracted to individuals from different walks of life.” He further admitted, “In fact, up until now, I’ve only dated women from other professions,” prompting Kian84 to jokingly call him a "different profession killer."

A Sweet Love Confession on the Subway

Kang Ha-neul also shared a heartwarming anecdote from his past, recalling a memorable love confession that he made when he was 20 years old. The actor described an encounter on the subway where he saw a woman sitting across from him, speaking on the phone. Feeling an immediate sense of kindness and warmth from her, he decided to express his feelings in a unique way. “I wrote a note saying, ‘I’m not a strange person, but if there’s a chance, would you like to have coffee?’ and I wrote my number down and handed it to her carefully,” Kang Ha-neul revealed.

He also shared that he was nervous and handed the note with both hands, fearing the woman might be scared. The actor’s bravery in taking such a bold step left Kian84 in admiration, calling Kang Ha-neul “really brave” for making the first move in such a thoughtful manner.
