Kim Soo Hyun Faces $2 Million Lawsuit Over Broken Ad Deal – What Went Wrong?

Popular K-Drama star Kim Soo Hyun is again in the headlines. This time, it’s not about his acting—but a new legal issue. On May 2, South Korean media outlet YTN Star shared that the actor is now facing a third advertisement contract lawsuit.

Kim Soo Hyun sued for breaking advertisement contract

A retail brand named ‘D’ has filed a lawsuit against Kim Soo Hyun, asking for 2.8 billion KRW (around 2 million USD) in damages. The case was submitted to the Seoul Central District Court on April 25. The company claims that the actor’s recent personal controversies have broken the agreement they had for his role as their brand model.

Before this, two more brands had already sued Kim Soo Hyun. These lawsuits were also related to the controversy around his past relationship with late actress Kim Sae Ron. Some reports claimed that Kim Soo Hyun dated her while she was still a minor, which affected his public image and the brands he represented.

Kim Soo Hyun’s team denies all claims

The actor's agency has strongly denied the accusations. They said the relationship happened only after Kim Sae Ron became an adult. They also shared that the actor has taken legal action against people spreading false information. This includes YouTube channel HOVERLAB and Kim Sae Ron’s family, with charges like stalking, defamation, and spreading lies.

The situation is serious for Kim Soo Hyun, who is one of the most loved K-drama actors in Korea and internationally. These lawsuits could affect his career, especially with advertising companies and brand endorsements.
