NewJeans’ Press Conference Announcement
This emotional exchange followed a press conference held on November 28th, 2024, in Gangnam, Seoul, where NewJeans revealed that their exclusive contract with ADOR would officially end at midnight on November 29th.
The members of NewJeans explained the situation to their fans during the press conference, stating, “Terminating the contract means the exclusive agreement is no longer valid, so there’s nothing hindering our activities. Since we can continue our activities steadily, we don’t think there’s a need to file an injunction or pursue legal action.”

NewJeans clarified that they had always complied with their contractual obligations, saying, "We have not violated the contract and have always done our best in our activities." They also made it clear that they believed ADOR and HYBE had violated the terms of the agreement, and thus, they felt justified in terminating it.
In their statement, NewJeans emphasized that they did not see any reason to pay penalties for the contract termination, as they held the belief that the situation was caused by the actions of ADOR and HYBE. "This situation arose because ADOR and HYBE violated the contract, and they should be held accountable," they said.
ADOR quickly responded to the group's announcement, denying the claims made by NewJeans. The company rebutted, "ADOR has not violated the contract. Simply claiming that trust has been broken does not constitute valid grounds for termination. The exclusive contract remains valid."
The Future of NewJeans
As NewJeans moves forward, their decision to terminate the contract marks a significant moment in their career. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the legal and contractual disputes, the group expressed their commitment to their fans and their future activities. Fans are hopeful that the group’s “short break” will only be temporary, and that NewJeans will return stronger than ever.
The love and loyalty of NewJeans’ fanbase, combined with the group's promises of future surprises, give fans hope that their journey with NewJeans is far from over.
