Pushpa 2: DSP’s Shocking Remarks on Delay, Treatment, and His Role in the Sequel
As the much-awaited Pushpa 2: The Rule gears up for its worldwide release on December 5, the team is putting in all efforts to promote the film. However, during an event in Chennai on November 24, an unexpected confrontation took place involving ace composer Devi Sri Prasad (DSP). The renowned composer, who had been associated with the Pushpa franchise, openly expressed his frustrations about the delay in delivering the film’s background score, leading to his replacement by other composers.
DSP addressed the issue publicly, revealing his disappointment over being blamed by the film’s producers, specifically Ravi Shankar, for the delay. He stated, “Ravi sir, you’ve been blaming me saying that I didn’t deliver the song or the background score on time. I know you love me. Where there is love, there are complaints as well. But, I think you have more complaints about me than love.”
DSP Speaks About the Unfair Treatment at the Event
DSP also highlighted how he felt treated unfairly during the event. He recalled how he arrived 20-25 minutes early but was asked to wait before making his entry, only to be criticized when he arrived. He added, “Even now, I came to the venue 20-25 minutes ago. They asked me to wait to make an entry for the camera. I am shy. I am shameless only when I’m on stage. Off-stage, I’m the shyest person you’ll meet. I could hear the song Kissik being played, so I came running. As soon as I arrived, you said, ‘Wrong timing, sir. You’re late’. What can I do?”
Despite the tension, DSP took a moment to express his gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support of Pushpa 1, which became a huge success. He thanked everyone for making the first installment a festival-like event and spoke about how the film boosted his career. “You all celebrated Pushpa 1 as a festival after its release. For Pushpa 2, you have made it a festival even before the release. Thanks to all across the world for making Pushpa 1 a blockbuster. For everyone, God provides a great chance in their career. I got my peak with Pushpa 1, and I am excited for the second part,” he shared with the audience.
