Actress Richa Chadha, deeply connected to Delhi as her hometown, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share her thoughts on the alarming environmental conditions. She re-shared a video showing firecrackers being burst on the streets and expressed her heartbreak in a moving letter.

She wrote, “The death sentence called life in Delhi… the city of my childhood, my school, my roots… Heartbreaking to see the apathy and sheer hatred for one-selves. Politicians will do nothing unless we learn to speak up for ourselves.”

Richa’s post resonated with many, as it reflected the frustration of citizens over the lack of action against pollution.

In earlier interviews, Richa Chadha has spoken openly about her concerns regarding climate change and its impact on her personal choices. She revealed that she had been hesitant about having children because of the ongoing environmental crisis.

“A year ago, I was firmly against having a child, and climate change was a very big reason. Eco-anxiety is a real thing for people like me who lie awake thinking about it,” she told Vogue India.

Richa also shared how her eco-conscious friends like Dia Mirza inspired her to make sustainable choices. “Many of the baby items in my home are gifts from Dia when she was pregnant,” she added.

On the professional front, Richa Chadha was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Netflix series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. After the show’s success, she took a maternity break to welcome her daughter, Zuneyra, in July 2024.
