MUMBAI — Madock Films' "Stree 2" is making waves at the box office, setting new records for Bollywood. Following the success of its predecessor, which was released in 2018, the sequel is poised to become the first Hindi film to cross the ₹600 crore mark, a feat no other Bollywood movie has achieved to date.

The film, featuring a star-studded cast including Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, and Shraddha Kapoor, has received overwhelming responses from audiences. Even in its sixth week, "Stree 2" continues to draw viewers back to theaters, with fans returning multiple times to experience the horror-comedy.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh reported that "Stree 2" earned ₹5.20 crore on its sixth Friday and ₹3.80 crore on Saturday, bringing its total earnings to ₹598.90 crore as of now. The film is expected to surpass the ₹600 crore milestone shortly, further solidifying its place in Hindi cinema history.

Previously, the highest-grossing Hindi films included "Baahubali 2," which earned ₹500 crore, as well as "Jawan" and "Animal," both of which also crossed the ₹500 crore mark. However, "Stree 2" has outperformed all these films, capturing the audience's imagination with its unique blend of comedy and horror.

In addition to the main cast, the film features cameo appearances from notable actors like Akshay Kumar, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Varun Dhawan. Plans for "Stree 3" are already underway, indicating that the franchise will continue to thrive.
