Vidya Balan on Skipping Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2
When asked why she didn’t join Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Vidya explained that it was a difficult decision, rooted in her respect for her original performance. "I was very clear why I didn’t want to do it," Vidya admitted. "I think I was just scared that I might squander away all that I had earned from that film."
Vidya elaborated that her iconic role in Bhool Bhulaiyaa set a high standard, and she feared a follow-up might not capture the same impact. However, after watching Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, she appreciated how the sequel managed to bring new energy without relying on a strict continuation of the original story. She shared, “When I told Bhushan I loved the trailer, he replied that I’d have to be part of the next one. That’s where all of this started.
With the excitement building around the franchise, fans are speculating about a future installment that could bring together beloved stars from previous films. When asked about the possibility of a reunion in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4 with Tabu from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Madhuri Dixit, and herself, Vidya responded enthusiastically. “Yes, of course, the more the merrier,” she said, hinting that she would be open to a star-studded return.
