50-Year-Old Abandoned Temple Found in Bulandshahr's Khurja

In Bulandshahr's Khurja, a 50-year-old temple has been found after Sambhal and Varanasi. This temple, which has been abandoned since the 1990 communal riots in a Muslim-dominated locality, is in the Khurja area. Hindu organizations have requested the authorities to get the temple restored for resuming religious activities.
Temple Abandoned Since 1990
The temple, in Salma Haqan Mohalla, was constructed by the Jatav community, and three decades ago that community had to leave Salma Haqan due to which this temple lay deserted. Reports say a local family had immersed the idols in a river, but the structure stands, and no one can dispute the place.

A Plea for Restoration
Hindu organizations such as the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Jatav Vikas Manch have written to the administration requesting the temple's restoration. They are looking forward to resuming religious practices at the site. SDM Durgesh Singh confirmed that the matter is under investigation and assured action after verifying the details.

This comes after a Shiv temple in Sambhal was reopened-the temple had been closed since 1978. A 250-year-old temple was recently also discovered in the Muslim-dominated Madanpura of Varanasi, garnering debates and appeals for restorations.
