Details of the Incident
The gangrape incident occurred in the Pura Kalandar area of Ayodhya, where a minor girl was sexually assaulted, and the perpetrators filmed the act to blackmail her continuously. The crime came to light when the victim was found to be two months pregnant. Despite the family's complaints, it is alleged that the police initially took no action. It was only after strong protests from Hindu organizations and members of the Nishad Party that the police arrested Moeed Khan, the president of Bhadrasa Nagar from the Samajwadi Party, and his associate Raju, who worked at Moeed's bakery. The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) also issued a notice to the police regarding this incident.
Government and Police Response
Following the intervention of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the case gained momentum, leading to immediate disciplinary action against the involved police officers and a detailed investigation into the matter. The administration is now committed to ensuring justice for the victim and holding the perpetrators accountable.
The swift actions and ongoing investigations underscore the government's commitment to addressing serious crimes and maintaining law and order. The case continues to develop as authorities work to provide justice and restore confidence in the legal system.
