Pensioners’ Forum Raises Alarm Over Ayushman Card Fraud, Submits Evidence to Collector

A meeting of the Pensioners’ Forum was held at Bhupesh Awasthi’s office in Saket Nagar, where serious concerns were raised about alleged irregularities and fraud under the Ayushman Bharat health card scheme. Members claimed that many hospitals accept Ayushman cards only for expensive surgeries, while patients are often overcharged or denied services for other treatments.
Forum member Anand Awasthi cited a specific example where an FIR was initially recommended against a hospital by the Additional Director of CGHS, but later the same officer refused action, claiming no crime had occurred. This reversal raised questions about the officer’s integrity.
The forum resolved to submit evidence of these irregularities to the District Collector to ensure a fair investigation. Members emphasized that ignoring the misuse of Ayushman cards goes against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of universal healthcare and demanded strict action.
The forum also highlighted ongoing corruption within the CGHS office. A formal complaint, including supporting documents, has already been submitted to the Health Ministry Secretary, Ms. Punya Salila Srivastava, seeking immediate redressal.
Forum head Bhupesh Awasthi assured all attendees that the matter would be taken up seriously and pursued to ensure justice.
