Bajrang Dal Stages Protest Over Land Dispute: Calls for Demarcation of Controversial Site in Ranjhi

Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh: Members of the Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) staged a protest at the Ranjhi Tehsil office on Thursday demanding immediate action in a contentious land demarcation case involving a disputed site. Allegations of "land jihad" and the presence of an illegal mosque at the location have sparked ongoing tensions.

The protesters at the tehsil office staged a sit-in demonstration and chanted slogans against the alleged inaction of authorities. The Gayatri Vidyapeeth land, for which there has long been a court case, has remained a disputed area. Workers of Bajrang Dal state that despite repeated warnings and requests, no steps have been undertaken to demarcate the site.

The protesters submitted a memorandum to the tehsildar demanding swift action in the matter while hoping that the matter could be speeded up. "We will not stand down until the land is demarcated and illegal activities are addressed," one of the protestors stated.

Legal Implications and Officials' Response:

However, the authorities say the matter is sub judice, with a case still pending in the High Court. "We are aware of the concerns raised by the protesters. Steps will be taken to address their demands in line with the court's ruling," said a senior official.

Controversies over the site have surrounded charges that it accommodates an illegal mosque, heightening communal tensions in the area. Householders around the place have reacted mixed, as some share the views of the protesting locals while others have called for disputants to seek peaceful redress through the courts.

On-Going Dispute:

The controversy is a trend of the wider land disputes and religious sentiments. The Bajrang Dal workers have threatened to continue agitating till their demands are met, which leaves the local authorities in a fix to tackle such situations.

With the High Court now going to decide on the matter, the situation remains tensed with calls for administrative and judicial intervention to resolve the dispute over land demarcation amicably and in the shortest possible time.
