ED Grills Ex-IAS Mohinder Singh in 426 Crore Noida Flat Scam Seizes 5.25 Crore Diamond

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned former IAS officer Mohinder Singh for questioning in Lucknow regarding a case involving fraud against Noida flat buyers. The ED is investigating properties recovered during recent raids at Singh’s premises and is expected to question him about the source of funds used for these investments. Additionally, other officials and staff of the authority involved in the Hacienda project are also expected to be summoned for questioning. The ED has reportedly uncovered details of some benami (undisclosed) properties linked to Singh. Last week, the ED conducted raids on Singh’s properties.

Investigation into Officers Serving from 2010 to 2016

Sources indicate that after questioning Mohinder Singh, the ED may also investigate several other IAS officers who served as CEOs of Noida Authority between 2010 and 2016 in connection to the ₹426 crore fraud case. These officers include Sanjeev Saran, Rama Raman, and others who succeeded them. Mohinder Singh has reportedly informed the ED that he stepped down from the CEO position in 2010, and the remaining formalities related to the project were completed during the tenure of his successors.

Luxury Assets and Hidden Wealth

During the raid at Singh’s residence, the ED seized a diamond worth ₹5.25 crore and several property documents. Investigations revealed that Singh had purchased high-value diamonds from a well-known jeweler in Delhi. Authorities suspect that Singh’s wife may have moved to the United States with some of these diamonds. In total, assets worth ₹42.56 crore, including diamonds, jewelry, and cash, were confiscated during the raid. This included ₹85 lakh in cash. The ED conducted extensive questioning of Mohinder Singh following the raid, and the investigation is now expanding to include other former officials of Noida Authority.
