Indian universities' buoyancy in producing employable graduates is not new; instead, it gained a new dimension after the French consultancy firm Emerging released its Global Employability University Rankings (GEURS) 2025.

Global Employability University Rankings: Indian Universities Shine

In the global list of top 250 universities, Indian institutions stood at the 10th position in this list, causing them to be graded among the best universities in terms of preparing students for high-paying jobs  #Top Indian Universities in GEURS Rankings
The best in the Indian pack is IIT Delhi, ranked 28th globally. Rest follow:
Indian Institute of Science (IISc) at rank 47
IIT Bombay at rank 60
IIT Kharagpur at rank 141
IIM Ahmedabad at rank 160.


Other Indian universities are: IIT Madras stands at 214. Delhi University at 219. Amity University at 225. Anna University at 237. Bangalore University at 249.

Rankings are by employers' assessments which rate the colleges and universities based on their ability to produce employable graduates with adequate skills and experience.

Global Leaders in Employability Rankings It is topped by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and California Institute of Technology (Caltech) at the first two places, respectively. United States and the United Kingdom are leading forces in the top 10 from the two countries that continue to show global superiority in higher education institutions.

The rankings include institutions from 42 countries, so it is distinctly an aggregate mix of global variety. The rankings were based on the perceptions of employers and students in relation to graduate employability at the national as well as international levels. They voted for the universities.

What Do These Rankings Represent?

The focus of GEURS rankings seems to be quite distinctly on the work experience stress and skill development along with academic abilities. From the above list, one can easily see that Indian universities are slowly earning the capability of getting more nearly aligned in education with job market conditions.
As such the rankings give fairly good information to the students, as well as to the employers, about the institutes well suited to get prepared for the challenge of the global workforce.
