Snake Scare in Uttar Pradesh: Deadly Reptile Bites 5 in Hapur Village, Claims 3 Lives as Snake Charmers Hunt for the Culprit
Lucknow: In a chilling turn of events, a snake attack in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur has resulted in the tragic death of three family members within just three days. The incident occurred in Sadarpur village of Garhmukteshwar Tehsil, where a snake bit five people in total, causing widespread panic. The fatalities included a mother and her two children, who were sleeping on the floor inside their home when the incident occurred late Sunday night.
Following the snakebite, all three were rushed to a nearby hospital, but despite medical efforts, the victims succumbed to the venom. As the village reeled in shock, another bite incident was reported the next night, affecting a neighbor. This prompted authorities to escalate their response.
The Forest Department, alongside local administration, has deployed a rescue operation to find and capture the snake responsible for these attacks. On Tuesday, they successfully caught one snake near the victims’ house, bringing some relief to the villagers. However, the danger wasn’t over. On Wednesday night, yet another person was bitten, raising alarms once again. The victim was transferred to Hapur hospital and later referred to Meerut due to his critical condition.
In an attempt to find the snake or snakes involved, the Forest Department brought in a team of four experienced snake charmers from Meerut. These charmers are now scouring the village houses, playing their traditional been to lure out the snakes hiding in walls and corners. “Our team rescued a snake yesterday, and today another one has been spotted hiding inside a wall. We’ve called in charmers and formed four specialized teams to assist in capturing any remaining snakes,” said Forest Department Ranger Karan Singh.
