IIT Student Accuses ACP of Rape; Case Registered Under Serious Charges
A shocking case has come to the fore in Kanpur where an IIT student has accused Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mohsin Khan of rape. This happened after the student came to the police seeking justice. The seriousness of the allegations is upon ACP Mohsin Khan as he is also pursuing his studies in cybercrime and criminology at IIT. Taking prompt action, the Kanpur Police Commissioner, Akhil Kumar, ordered a case registration and removed Mohsin Khan from his position. He has been transferred to Lucknow Headquarters. This incident has created both the police department and the public into an agitation.
Accusation and Police Action
The victim lodged a written complaint against ACP Mohsin Khan for sexually assaulting her. A rape and other serious charges case were registered immediately after she had made a complaint.
Kanpur Police Commissioner Akhil Kumar acted promptly and ordered an impartial probe in the matter. He immediately removed the accused officer from his present assignment and attached him to Lucknow Headquarters.
