Election Commission's Response
Meanwhile, the Election Commission (EC) held a press conference in Delhi, where Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar addressed the ongoing voting process. Kumar reassured the public that every polling booth in Jammu and Kashmir was under strict surveillance. The EC has set up a control room in Delhi to closely monitor the elections, ensuring transparency and fairness throughout the process.
Rajiv Kumar emphasized the importance of peaceful elections in the region, stating that people in Jammu and Kashmir are choosing ballots over bullets, which is a moment to celebrate. He further added that the world is watching the success of democratic processes in the valley, despite attempts to undermine them.
