Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh – A violent altercation between two shopkeepers in Jhansi has left five people severely injured after acid was allegedly thrown during the conflict. The shocking incident took place in the Moth area when a disagreement over a truck’s movement escalated into a full-blown confrontation.

The Dispute Turns Violent

The clash occurred late at night near a group of scrap shops. According to eyewitnesses, what started as a dispute over clearing the path for a truck quickly spiraled out of control, resulting in a physical fight between the two shopkeepers and their associates. The situation took a dangerous turn when one side reportedly threw acid, causing panic among bystanders. In the chaos, five individuals, including shopkeepers and bystanders, sustained injuries.

Police were alerted to the scene and were able to regain control of the situation. The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.

Eyewitness Accounts

Rajkumar Pandey, one of the victims, explained that he and his brother Shriram were attacked by a group of individuals armed with acid and a heavy iron bar (sabbel). According to Pandey, there was already tension between the two groups due to a longstanding dispute, and this incident was the culmination of previous altercations.

On the other hand, Suresh Bhadauria, representing the other group involved, stated that the frequent blockage of the road by the opposing party had been a source of constant frustration for his brother’s shop. The argument broke out when a truck driver attempted to back up his vehicle, leading to the heated altercation.

Police Response and Investigation

Gopinath Soni, Superintendent of Police (Rural), confirmed the details of the incident. He noted that both parties are engaged in the scrap trade and that the conflict arose over loading a truck. It was further revealed that, along with acid, old battery water was also thrown during the scuffle, which caused the injuries.
