Kashmir Shocker! Migrant Laborer Found Dead in Shopian
A laborer was found dead with multiple bullet wounds in the Wandina area of Shopian, South Kashmir, early this morning. The victim, identified as Ashok Kumar Chauhan, a resident of Bhagalpur, Bihar, was reportedly lured away by a call while working in a cornfield before being brutally killed.
According to Chauhan’s roommate, they had arrived at the field around 7 a.m. to purchase corn. Chauhan received a phone call shortly after and left, only to be found dead hours later. His body bore multiple wounds, though witnesses couldn’t confirm whether they were from gunshots or knife injuries. Chauhan leaves behind a wife and three children.
A senior police official confirmed that the body was discovered by passersby near the roadside. Security forces quickly arrived at the scene, and the body has been sent for postmortem. Preliminary investigations suggest that terrorists were behind the killing, marking a resurgence of targeted violence against non-locals in the region.
The police have launched a manhunt in the area to track down those responsible for this brutal act, which has once again stirred concerns about the safety of migrant workers in Kashmir.
