Madhya Pradesh Shocker: Diwali Feud Turns Deadly as Woman Stabs Husband's First Wife 50+ Times

Madhya Pradesh Shocker: A woman in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her husband's first wife more than 50 times following a heated argument. The incident took place on Diwali, October 31, and left the victim, Jaya, critically injured. The accused identified as Mansi reportedly attacked Jaya after a dispute, inflicting numerous stab wounds. Mansi stabbed Jaya a number of times when the latter was already hurt and bleeding. She also kicked and uttered abused statements during the said attack.

According to the police report, both women were married to Rambabu Verma. Jaya was 26 years old and had married Verma in 2019. However, as her illness progressed, Rambabu Verma married Mansi, who is 22 years old. The police further said that this relationship between the two wives has been tense lately, which resulted in an argument on Diwali night that finally turned violent.

Jaya was taken straight away to the hospital in Prayagraj, and is reportedly still in a critical condition. The police received word of the incident, and soon arrested Mansi under different sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, or BNS-the criminal code.

Senior police official Udit Mishra confirmed that a case has been registered and is under investigation. "Rambabu's first wife, Jaya, has had ongoing health issues, which was a factor in his marriage to Mansi. We are awaiting Jaya's statement to further our investigation," Mishra told reporters.

It was a reflection of the tension within the family, an issue that brought mainstream concern to domestic disputes and violence. Police are studying all the incidents that prompted such a happening and making great efforts to bring justice into such a grave case of domestic violence.
