The event, led by BJP leader and former MP Navneet Rana in the Amravati district of Maharashtra, turned chaotic on Saturday evening when a mob allegedly disrupted the rally. The incident happened during Rana's campaign for Ramesh Bundile, the BJP candidate from the Daryapur Assembly constituency. According to officials, the mob damaged chairs, raised threatening slogans, and created a huge sense of tension at the rally.

Navneet Rana's Rally Hit Amid Maharashtra Elections

Inspector Kiran Wankhade of Crime Branch Rural Amravati said a clash took place between two groups as there was a rally. The situation was brought under control and a police check post has been arranged to maintain peace. We have filed a case based on the complaint and request of Navneet Rana and request citizens not to believe in any rumors that are going on. The investigation is going on, added Wankhade.

Navneet Rana accused the disruption as being 'orchestrated' by the Uddhav Thackeray faction of Shiv Sena. The mob, she said, made obscenity gestures and took religious slogans, which escalated the tension. We were peacefully campaigning when the disruption started. When our supporters intervened, the mob threw chairs, she said. She maintained that the rally was to ensure peaceful and smooth elections in Maharashtra.

In agitation, Rana gave a deadline to the police to make arrests, warning that the whole Hindu community of Amravati would assemble outside if action wasn't taken. She accused local leaders from the Thackeray faction of deliberately instigating the chaos. This was orchestrated by their taluka president, who lives in the village. If they provoke us, we will respond in kind, she said.

The incident has triggered political tensions and prompted the BJP to call for prompt action. Rana's allegations have further intensified the bitter political rivalry between the BJP and the Uddhav Thackeray faction, which is eyeing the Assembly polls.
