Jammu & Kashmir: Major Army Operation, 2 Terrorists Killed in Anantnag Encounters
 

  Encounters are currently happening at three places in Jammu & Kashmir. Two terrorists have been neutralized by security forces in Anantnag. Srinagar and Budgam have also reported encounters. This is the major attacks within the last 16 days.

Security forces have eliminated two terrorists in Anantnag, Jammu & Kashmir. Operations are still underway in the Halkangali area of Anantnag, which has been sealed off in its entirety. Similar operations are going on in Srinagar and Budgam as well. Security forces have kept a tight vigil on the entire region to foil terrorist infiltration and attacks as militants often try to infiltrate and launch attacks.

Jammu & Kashmir: Security Forces Engage Terrorists

A battle is going on between militants and security personnel in Khanyar here. Inputs have been made that some two or three terrorists could be hiding around the spot. Based on the same, security agencies launched searches. As they reached around near the suspected militant hide-out, militants too opened up firing. Soon, they too started a clash.

Another incident is surfacing in the Magam region of Budgam. A fortnight back, terrorists had opened fire on two migrant laborers working at a local water project at Mazhama, injuring them. Usman and Sanjay hailing from Uttar Pradesh were immediately shifted to the hospital.
In Jammu & Kashmir, critical attacks have surfaced for the last 16 days:
- Two non locals were shot at on November 1 in Budgam.
-On October 28, militants attacked an army ambulance in Akhnoor.
-On October 25 and 24, military convoys and vehicles were targeted in Baramulla and other locations.
-On October 20, an attack at the Ganderbal tunnel project left seven people dead.
-On October 16, a non-local youth was shot dead in Shopian.

National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah condemned the incident and raised a query why such incidents are surfacing now. He recommended arresting the perpetrators and finding out what is their motive rather than killing them so that future instability is not caused.
