Mandaviya’s eShram Revolution: One-Stop Solution for Unorganised Workers!

NEW DELHI – Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya is set to launch the eShram-One Stop Solution on Monday, an initiative designed to provide unorganised workers with streamlined access to various government schemes and programmes. The launch reflects the government's effort to improve welfare for unorganised workers, who often struggle to benefit from existing social sector schemes due to lack of awareness or access.

The eShram-One Stop Solution will serve as a central platform, ensuring that unorganised workers can easily connect with the social security schemes designed to support them. According to the Labour Ministry's statement, the initiative aligns with the vision outlined in the recent Union Budget, which emphasized the need to develop eShram as a comprehensive solution for the unorganised labour sector.

Bridging the Gap for Unorganised Workers

The unorganised labour sector comprises workers who lack formal employment arrangements, making it challenging for them to access welfare schemes. This new platform aims to centralise the process of identifying beneficiaries, thus facilitating faster and more effective implementation of these schemes.

By consolidating information from different social security and welfare initiatives, eShram-One Stop Solution will help workers navigate the often complex web of government support programs. The integration of 12 central ministries and departments into this system ensures that workers can access a wide range of schemes from a single platform, reducing confusion and delays.

A Key Step Towards Financial Inclusion

Since its initial launch on August 26, 2021, the eShram portal has registered over 30 crore unorganised workers, marking a major milestone in the government's push for financial and social inclusion. The overwhelming response highlights the importance of such platforms in reaching out to those who remain outside the formal employment sector.

By registering on eShram, workers can access benefits like health insurance, pensions, and housing, among other welfare measures. The platform aims to extend its reach even further by acting as a mediator between workers and the government, ensuring that no eligible worker is left behind.

Effective Integration of Social Security Schemes

The Labour Ministry's statement emphasizes that the new platform will help achieve the saturation of welfare schemes more efficiently. The integration of various government programs into eShram-One Stop Solution will allow for a smoother process, ensuring that workers who are eligible for multiple schemes receive their entitlements without unnecessary delays.

The upcoming launch by Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya underscores the government's commitment to the welfare of unorganised workers, who represent a significant portion of India's workforce. The eShram-One Stop Solution is expected to further enhance the effectiveness of welfare schemes and improve the quality of life for millions of workers in the unorganised sector.

The eShram-One Stop Solution is a critical step in ensuring that unorganised workers across India can access essential welfare schemes easily and efficiently. By integrating multiple government initiatives into a single platform, the government is streamlining the process of social security, allowing workers to take full advantage of the benefits they are entitled to. As the platform continues to grow, it promises to be a transformative tool in improving the lives of unorganised workers and promoting financial inclusion across the nation.
