The raid was conducted within the early hours, ranging from 4:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Local police assisted the NIA during the operation, even though they were not briefed upon the specific purpose of the raid. Dinesh is serving a 10-year sentence at Tihar Jail and has serious criminal charges pending against him, including murder and violations under the Arms Act. He continues to be an influential member of the Neeraj Bawana gang, which has been associated with various crimes in Delhi and Haryana.
The raid at his residence is part of ongoing investigations into the operations of the Bawana gang, which has been under scrutiny for its involvement in extortion, arms trafficking, and violent crimes. Dinesh's family, including his deceased father and his brother Johnny, who resides in Italy, were not present during the raid. This is the NIA's step to destroy organized crime syndicates and prevent further crimes by these gangs. Further, investigation into Dinesh's connections and any ongoing illegal activities will be continued as the authorities would be concentrating on unearthing the gang's network and operations.
