Cyclone Dana’s Impact and Railway Precautions

As around 1 million people are being evacuated from vulnerable areas in Odisha and West Bengal, Indian Railways is focusing on passenger safety by preemptively cancelling or rescheduling services. Cyclone Dana is expected to bring high winds, heavy rain, and potential flooding, which could cause significant disruptions to train operations.

In response to the threat, various divisions across Indian Railways have implemented cancellations to ensure that passengers are not left stranded or placed in danger due to the severe weather conditions. Train stations in affected areas have been working around the clock to manage the cancellations and provide assistance to passengers seeking alternative travel arrangements.

What to Do If Your Train Is Cancelled

If you’re one of the passengers affected by these cancellations, it’s important to regularly check the IRCTC website or mobile app for updates regarding the status of your train. Indian Railways is offering full refunds for passengers whose trains have been cancelled due to the cyclone. Travelers are advised to rebook their journeys for a later date or explore alternate travel options.

For more information on the full list of cancelled trains and updates regarding resumption of services, passengers can visit the official IRCTC website or call the dedicated helpline numbers.

With Cyclone Dana approaching and the potential for widespread impact on the eastern coast of India, Indian Railways has taken essential steps to minimize the risk to passengers by cancelling over 300 trains. Passengers should remain alert, check for updates, and follow safety advisories during this challenging period. As always, safety remains the top priority during such natural events, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
