PM Modi’s Silver Jubilee Message, Nine Requests for Uttarakhand’s Growth

A day before the silver jubilee of Uttarakhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the people of Devbhoomi, Uttarakhand, in a video-conferencing message. He wished that the next decade would be a decade of credible development of the state. Along with his good wishes, he made nine special requests for the people of Uttarakhand and the tourists visiting the state.

Nine is an auspicious number, added PM Modi. On November 9, he made the requests as part of his vision for the growth of Uttarakhand. The PM said five requests were those meant for the people of Uttarakhand and the remaining four were meant for the tourists and pilgrims who come to the state. He expressed that development initiatives are a huge transformation to Uttarakhand and termed it a "grand yajna" or sacrificial fire. Here, the PM also cited his visit to Baba Kedarnath's temple where he had prayed for the prosperity of the state and expressed hope that this decade would be Uttarakhand's decade. PM Modi further mentioned that it is a milestone of 25 years since Uttarakhand came into existence. Now the time comes when we have to look ahead towards its bright future by peering ahead at the next 25 years.

He also felt happy that the people of this state have already started working on various programs that will shape their future and make their state even more prosperous. For Uttarakhand, there begins a new page for them in the race for progress.
