Quran Burning Incident in Bulandshahr: Lawyer Imran Arrested After Controversial Video Goes Viral
Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh: A highly sensitive incident has emerged from Bulandshahr district, where a lawyer named Imran has been accused of burning the Quran and making derogatory remarks about Islam. The incident, which has sparked significant outrage, was captured in a video that has since gone viral on social media.
According to reports, the incident occurred in the Shikarpur area of Bulandshahr. On Sunday, September 1, 2024, a resident named Shahid filed a complaint with the local police, alleging that Imran had posted an objectionable video on YouTube. In the video, Imran is seen burning the Quran and making inflammatory comments about Islam, including accusations that 26 verses of the Quran advocate the killing of non-believers. He also announced his conversion from Islam to Sanatan Dharma.
Shahid's complaint further claims that Imran, who is a lawyer by profession, insulted the Prophet Muhammad in the video. Citing the hurt caused to his religious sentiments and the potential for unrest, Shahid demanded strict action against Imran.
Following the complaint, the police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Imran under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including sections 192, 299, 302, and 353. The police arrested Imran on Monday, September 2, 2024, and confirmed that an investigation is underway.

In the video, Imran criticizes practices like triple talaq, halala, and child marriage under Sharia law, asserting that the world condemns such actions.
Throughout the video, Imran maintains a defiant tone, declaring that he is renouncing his former beliefs and returning to Sanatan Dharma. He also expressed support for Swami Ramgiri Maharaj, a controversial figure, and called for a ban on the Quran, describing it as promoting violence.
The incident has led to widespread condemnation, with many calling for strict legal action against Imran. The police have assured that they are taking the necessary steps to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure that justice is served.
