Scandal Hits Again: Varalakshmi Tiffin Center Owner Prabhakar Reddy Arrested for Alleged Rape After Previous Drug Charges
HYDERABAD—Prabhakar Reddy, the owner of the well-known Varalakshmi Tiffin Center, finds himself in legal trouble once more, this time facing allegations of rape. Reddy, who was previously arrested in a drug-related case, was out on bail when he was hit with new accusations. Two women have filed complaints against him, alleging that he deceived them with false promises of marriage and sexually assaulted them.
According to the victims, the incidents occurred earlier this year, with the most recent complaint being filed this month. The Gachibowli police, acting on the complaints, have arrested Prabhakar Reddy under sections 417, 420, and 354A of the Indian Penal Code.
Prabhakar Reddy, who hails from Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh, started his journey as a humble food vendor, establishing the Varalakshmi Tiffin Center with just a small cart. His business grew rapidly due to the popularity of his food, and he eventually expanded to 10 branches across Hyderabad. However, his success story took a dark turn when he was arrested in a drug case, revealing his involvement in illicit activities alongside his thriving food business.
Police investigations have uncovered that Reddy was involved in smuggling drugs from Goa to Hyderabad and was actively selling them while running his tiffin centers. Despite serving time in jail for the drug case, he has now been arrested again for allegedly raping two women who have come forward with their harrowing experiences.
The shocking details of Reddy’s double life—running a successful tiffin business by day and engaging in criminal activities by night—have sent ripples through the community, tarnishing the reputation of the once-celebrated Varalakshmi Tiffin Center.
