Terror Attack in Akhnoor: Army Convoy Ambushed Near Temple in Jammu & Kashmir - Mass Search Operations for Militants Underway!
JAMMU & KASHMIR — Terrorists attack an Indian Army convoy at Akhnoor in Jammu & Kashmir this Monday morning. A group of three to four terrorists, reported to have attacked the convoy with heavy gunfire on a military vehicle near the Shiv Temple in Batal village in Akhnoor, have left the security forces to conduct a massive search operation in the area for tracing the attackers.
Sources revealed that the terrorists were believed to be hiding nearby at a local temple and let the convoy pass by them and fired upon it. This attack occurred around 7:00 a.m. The Jammu & Kashmir Police, Indian Army, and Special Operations Group have all been rushed to the site and cordoned the area as they search extensively for the terrorists.
An area has been cordoned off after security forces began to inspect nearby structures and routes that they suspect might be used for hideouts. The incident currently has not been reported about injuries or casualties, while official updates are yet awaited.
The latest attack here adds to the ever growing list of terror-related incidents in the region and tells of continued security challenges being confronted in Jammu & Kashmir.
