Tragic Accident Near Shoranur: Kerala Express Runs Over Four Sanitation Staffers at Railway Station

Palakkad, Kerala - Four sanitation workers were killed when New Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram Kerala Express ran over them at the Shoranur Railway Station in Palakkad district on Saturday. The incident occurred near Bharathapuzha Bridge, and four of the staff members were killed. Two women were from Tamil Nadu.

Bodies brought back to the site of accident; search continues for one more missing sanitation staffer

Railway police report that the bodies of three of the employees, including two women, have been found at the accident spot. It is suspected that the fourth one might have jumped into the river to escape. Fire and rescue officials are present and are scanning the entire vicinity and checking the river beds to trace the missing man.

Continued Rescue and Rescue Operations

The rescue teams are on the ground working day and night and using every resource to cover the area of the bridge and the nearby riverbank search. There has been an intense railway and local government investigation on the incident so as to understand what may have triggered the disaster to happen.

The officials pledged that the case of how this occurred must be ascertained so that there could be provision of aid for the bereaved families.
