Tragic Bus-Tempo Crash in Dholpur: 11 Dead, Including 8 Children, Sparks Outrage

Dholpur, Rajasthan — In a tragic road accident in Rajasthan’s Dholpur district, 11 people, including eight children, were killed when a sleeper coach bus collided with a tempo. The accident occurred near Sunipur village on NH-11B late Saturday night, leaving the entire community in shock.

Details of the Incident

The fatal collision took place on the highway when a speeding sleeper coach bus struck a tempo carrying passengers returning from a family event in Baroli village. The tempo passengers were from the Gumath neighborhood of Bari city and were heading back after attending a "Bhat" ceremony. The victims included five boys, three girls, two women, and one man.

Local police rushed to the scene immediately after receiving the distress call, evacuating the injured and recovering the bodies from the severely damaged tempo. All the victims’ bodies were sent for post-mortem examination, and the injured, including the bus driver and conductor, were taken to Dholpur District Hospital for treatment. Two of the injured are reported to be in critical condition.

Complete Destruction of the Tempo

The impact of the crash was so severe that the tempo was completely crushed. Broken vehicle parts, shattered glass, and debris from the tempo were scattered across the road. Some passengers were trapped inside, while others were thrown onto the road by the force of the collision. The accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night.

Police officials, including Deputy Sub-Collector Durga Prasad Meena and Circle Officer Mahendra Kumar Meena, arrived at the site along with a team from Bari Police Station. They supervised the recovery efforts and cleared the damaged vehicles from the highway.

Scene of Chaos and Traffic Disruption

Following the accident, the site became chaotic as a crowd gathered around, and traffic on the highway was briefly halted. Police worked quickly to control the situation and ease the traffic jam. They have secured both vehicles involved in the crash and begun an investigation. Barricades have also been placed near the site to prevent further incidents.

Investigation Underway

Police are currently gathering information from eyewitnesses and have notified the families of the deceased. The cause of the accident is under investigation, with initial reports suggesting the bus was speeding.
