Massive Fake SIM Card Scandal: 20,000 Counterfeit SIMs Unveiled in Uttarakhand Crime Ring
In a shocking revelation, the Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) has uncovered a significant crime operation involving 20,000 counterfeit SIM cards. These fraudulent SIMs, primarily issued from Uttarakhand, are believed to be fueling various criminal activities across the country. The STF has arrested one suspect and noted that 35 FIRs have been filed nationwide in connection with this case. Most of the fake SIMs have reportedly been dispatched to Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia, with 1,816 of them recovered so far.
Large-Scale Fake SIM Operation: The Uttarakhand STF has revealed that a staggering 20,000 fake SIM cards, linked to various crimes, have been identified, all originating from the state.
Key Arrest and Investigations: One suspect has been apprehended in connection with the case, which has prompted the filing of 35 FIRs across the country.
Fraudulent Activities and Recovery: Many counterfeit SIMs were sent overseas, with 1,816 recovered to date. The operation came to light after a complaint involving an ₹80 lakh fraud linked to stock market investments was filed by a Dehradun resident.
